After a thorough cleaning and degreasing, the parts are immersed in a flow-coating system for the “base coat” lacquer application. The parts are then air-dried in a rotating system and later baked at high temperatures.

The carousel of parts are afterwards fed to a vacuum metalizing chamber, where the aluminum application takes place at a pressure reading of .5 micron; a gravitational force equivalent to traveling 300 miles from the earth’s surface. Once these parts are metallized, they are once again immersed in the flow-coating system, this time to accept a “top coat” lacquer. This coating provides protection for the aluminum and serves as the adhesion for the color dye.

After the parts are again baked, (at a lower temperature), they are ready for the color dye. If no coloring is required, then the parts remain with a chrome finish.
